Studio Policies

CREATING SAFE SPACE :

POLICIES for Your

Practice

Because Shri has always been an outreach studio first, we are just starting to grow our OPEN schedule to the public since building out our gorgeous new space. So, if there is a time you would like to see added to our schedule, please email us!

Shri Studio Classes…

Require all students in OPEN classes (public) to SIGN UP BEFORE SHOWING UP

Why? Because we want to best serve our students with an efficient front desk & class communication; also our funders require outcome reports for free classes to continue

Are either ONLY in person or ONLY online

Why? Because we want to be fully present for one group at one time

Begin on time and the door to the studio locks when classes are in session

Why? Because we want to provide the most present experience for all our students while respecting the privacy of our other tenants*

If not free, are supported by low-cost passes that are non-refundable and non-transferable (no credit) within a 24-hour period of a class start time

Why? Because it's a standard organizational procedure and a show of respect for everyone's valuable time

If not free, are supported by low-cost passes that are non-refundable but transferable (credit) if re-booked within a 24-hour period of a class start time

Why? Because we understand “life” happens and you can better use your class purchase (credit) at another time with 24+ hours notice

If supported by a 10-pass pack, expires in 6 months

Why? Because yoga is a practice, and we believe 6 months is a reasonable amount of time to hold your 10 studio spots while also keeping the studio running efficiently and transparently for the whole community

The minimum age for a student to attend an open class is 16 years old

Why? Because we want to offer the most safe and appropriate class material for one group at a time (for anyone under 16 years old, we can offer private group sessions / outreach in schools (email your request here)

*(exception: adaptive classes when we have direct support professionals in the lobby to help with RIDE busses and group transportation issues, the studio door will remain open during class)

The studio does not have a lost and found and is not responsible for any lost or left behind personal items

Why? Because we have hundreds of students who come in and out of Shri all week long, and it’s not realistic for our staff to keep track of non-studio items

You can only purchase a class / event pass for someone else through our student liaison, mary@shriyoga.org

Why? Because we want to be sure we have proper class rosters for every class for safety and communication

At Shri, we're committed to creating a space where everyone feels safe, supported, and respected.

That means no abusive or hurtful language—ever. Please speak to and with each other (and our team) with kindness and patience. If things get heated or uncomfortable ever, we’ll step in. Repeated or serious inappropriate behavior may result in being asked to leave the space and building.

Online Code of Conduct

And the above policy in physical Shri spaces also extends into the digital world as well, where Shri remains committed to fostering only positive, respectful and supportive practices online.

In Doing So, Shri Encourages:

> Refraining from posting any digital content that directly or indirectly spreads destructive discourse or unverified claims about individuals or organizations

> Refraining on commenting on any digital content that directly or indirectly spreads destructive discourse or unverified claims about individuals or organizations

> Resolving concerns or differences of opinion privately and respectfully, not publicly or performatively

> Honoring other’s dignity and privacy, even in moments of disagreement

By upholding these standards of non-engagement and common decency, we believe we are contributing to a safer, more supportive digital space, which is growing every day.
